Delegation of Turkish business women meet with Mayor Parker.

On Tuesday, November 19, Mayor Parker met with a delegation of Turkish business women from the Koza Business Women Association. Representing businesses from a variety of sectors and a broad array of backgrounds, the delegates spent some time with the Mayor discussing Houston’s business climate and the work that the City does to ensure that women and minority-owned business thrive in Houston.

While in Houston, the delegation participated in two forums. The first, “Entrepreneurial Leadership: A Case of Successful Business Women from Turkey,” hosted by North American University, featured a panel discussion by Turkish and American business women who shared success stories in building their business networks. The second forum was hosted by the Texas Turkish American Chamber of Commerce (TTACC) and the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) and was held on Tuesday, November 19 to showcase business professionals from Houston and Turkey. Speakers at the forum included Ms. Gwen Tillotson, Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of Houston and Ms. Deniz Senyurt, Commercial Attache of the Consulate General of Turkey.
